Kat + Mike | Louisville Pop Art Wedding
If I had to describe Kat and Mike's pop art wedding in one phrase, it would be "24 karat fun."
The perfect mix of traditional and unconventional, the whole day with this classy couple was everything a photographer could hope. It was full of bright colors with deep moody tones, eclectic details, and a new surprise around every corner. Kat is a stylist in New York with an eye for creative details, and tbh, I'm still convinced she was actually Britney Spears in disguise. Everything, from the custom leather jackets her bridesbabes wore, to the neon light table numbers, the gold confetti ceremony exit, and her wedding dress to romper+clip on train change, was carefully curated to fit her unique style. Mike is the more conservative, quiet type, and he complimented Kat so well.
As you'll see in the photos, this couple loved to have fun! Even the fact that they chose 21c in downtown Louisville, with its nine story tall David replica and red penguin signature aesthetic, shows their affinity to all things unique. Even though the rooftop ceremony was totally a delight, my favorite part of the day was their reception. The reception was held in the pop art gallery in the bottom level of the venue, but that didn't stop them from bringing the party. I did my best to document the sea of sombreros, Kat and her gang singing karaoke, the flood of neon lights, and keeping up with Kat's mom on the dance floor. Even the Chick-Fil-A cow joined the fun!
The thing that stood out to me the most though was the way that Kat and Mike really adored each other. They were inseparable most of the day, even creeping away after the ceremony for sneaky kisses in the hallway. They're perfect for each other and I'm so glad I could be part of their gorgeous day.
